Haze

Haze — Fog, heard from far away.

Haze takes Fog's voices (the half-sine, the sine 130 Hz above the note, the pure sine with its octave below) and sends them a long way off. The air eats the highs, the direct sound fades, and the haze takes over. Notes sing for as long as you hold them, sinking slowly, and fade out into the haze when you let go.

K1 Distance · how far away it is: just offshore, across the harbor, the far shore, past the lighthouse, miles out to sea. The further out, the slower each note arrives, from Fog's quick strike close in to a slow two-second swell far out. The screen names where you are.

K2 Wind · gusts carry the sound to you and take it away. It swells and sinks, brightens and dulls, and bends a few cents. Dead calm at the bottom, a gale at the top.

K3 Echo · the far shore answers. Fog's echoes, stretched out and thrown left and right, darker every time they come back.

K4 Glow · Fog's bloom: a shimmer a slightly flat octave above, glowing in the haze.

AUX · drift away. The sound slowly drifts further out than the knob goes and the haze hangs on longer. Press again and it comes back.
